Finley added the scalp of
reigning premier Tocumwal
to its promising resurgence
from the Murray Football
League wilderness on Saturday
night.
A four-goal-to-two final
quarter helped Finley come
from behind to earn its second
win from three games,
12.16 (88) to 10.16 (76).
Damian Sexton’s side
managed four behinds in the
third term to relinquish a
nine-point half-time lead.
Tocumwal let the Cats off
the hook with an inaccurate
2.6 to only lead by five points
at the final break.
It would prove costly as
Finley earned another victory
after failing to claim any
during the past two seasons.
Linton Congram, Michael
Littlejohn and Paul Massingham
were prominent for
Finley.
Reigning dual O’Dwyer
medallist Lee Warnett,
Michael Tinkler and John
Shiels battled hard for
Tocumwal, which is winless
from the opening four
rounds of its flag defence.
