The 2009 Season will end this coming Saturday with the Grand Finals to be played at the West End Complex.
Under 10 - TEDAS v West End at 9.00am at JC1. This should be a very even and close game between these two teams. They have met twice this season, with West End winning during the season 55 to 10, but TEDAS halted West Ends unbeaten season in the Second Semi Final in a nail-biting game, getting up 35 to 33. West End had a confidence boosting win in the Prelim, so it is primed for a crackerjack game, and TEDAS will be keen to repeat their efforts in the Second Semi Final and win back to back Premierships.
Under 12 - Combined Saints v TEDAS at 10.30am on Stoddart. After finishing third at the end of the season, TEDAS have defeated Churchill in the First Semi Final, and reversed a 49 point loss to Glengarry during the season with a 26 point win over them in the Prelim Final. Combined Saints have had a stellar season, not losing a game during the year, defeating TEDAS twice during the year, along with having a good hard win over Glengarry in the Second Semi Final. This team will be hoping history repeats, as they won a flag 2 years ago in the Under 10s together. Both teams will be confident of winning due to current form and should produce some excellent football.
Under 14 - West End v Pax Hill at Noon on Stoddart. West End finished the year on top, defeating Pax Hill by 4 points in Round 8, and again by 21 points in the second Semi Final. Pax Hill played well to defeat TEDAS in the Prelim Final, and are fully aware of what needs to be done, as these two teams fought out the Under 12 Grand Final 2 years ago, with West End coming out on top. The West End boys will see this year as their year, and the likely winner of this contest is anybodys guess, and Pax Hill looking to reverse the result from 2 years ago.
Under 16 - Glengarry v TEDAS at 2pm on Stoddart. Glengarry have had a stellar season in 2009, not dropping a game for the year, although they did draw with TEDAS in Round 5. They have played each other 3 times this year, and Glengarry have won both the other two games. TEDAS played some good footy to defeat Churchill in the Prelim, and with a full side back on the park, will be confident of taking the game up to Glengarry in the Grand Final. It should be a very entertaining game, as both teams have some very talented footballers that can have a huge impact on the result of the contest.
We wish all the teams playing best of luck, and congratulate all the other teams/clubs that have not made Grand Finals this year on their 2009 efforts. Lets hope the weather is good for footy Grand Final Day, and we have some close, keenly contested football this Saturday.
