We love Fair Play!

FAIR PLAY

Our College Comp is organised with an emphasis on providing an opportunity for young players to enjoy netball in the off-season.  The Netball Wellington Centre is a keen advocate of fair play and enjoyment through participation and would appreciate if teams could please remember to adopt fair play practices in their games.

Three cheers for the other team after the game, congratulating your partner on a well-played game and shaking hands nicely with your opposition are great practices to get into the habit of for future sport involvement.

Teams who show bad sportsmanship at their game ruin the fun for others and run the risk of being excluded from future competition.  If unsure what we mean by “Fair Play”, Netball Wellington Centre applies the below principles to all its competitions:

Fair play in netball means:

  • always playing fair and within the rules;
  • always respecting your opponents and officials;
  • always giving it heaps, but keeping your cool;
  • always respecting and supporting your team-mates, coaches/managers.

We thank those teams that have displayed some great fair play practices to date and encourage others to join in and do likewise for a better game experience!

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
