CLARENCE is the undisputed queen of the Tasmanian Women's AFL competition after storming to its fourth premiership in five years at North Hobart Oval yesterday.
In a rematch of last year's grand final, the Roos were too strong for minor premiers Spreyton, winning 10.15 (75) to 6.2 (38). Only Launceston in 2010 has stopped Clarence from making a clean sweep of the silverware in the TASWAFL. The Roos led at every change and had all the answers for a gallant Spreyton, who were just unable to get close enough to threaten in the second half.
And anyone who thought the women didn't go in hard only had to be on hand to see Roo Robyn Allchin get crunched with a huge hip and shoulder just before three quarter-time.
Jessica Wuetschner -- who was upgraded to a Tasmania Roar full contract for the upcoming cricket season -- highlighted her all-round skills with two classy goals, while Mel Green and All-Australian Maddi Smith also bagged two goals. Carly Johnson was named best afield.
For Spreyton, Chantelle Graham and Rachel Crack put in great displays.
