Home town hosts, Queensland, a combined ACT/NSW, two Victorian teams (a state and a development team), South Australia and Western Australia will compete for the second U18s Youth Girls title.
Following the outstanding success of the first U18 Nationals in Melbourne in 2010 and hot on the heels of the first fully fledged 16s Schoolgirls Nationals in Canberra in July, the talent pathway for female footballers is ramping up.
Inaugural winners, Victoria, bumped off a gallant WA side by 15 points in 2010 so the Black Ducks will be keen to step up another level in 2011.
Surprise package from 2010, SA, have retained many of their younger players so with more experience behind them could take it up to the Vics and WA.
Queensland will be very determined to put on a good show in front of home crowds whilst ACT/NSW expect to perform well given their improved performances at all levels of Nationals during the year.
