U10 Girls Winter 2015

Please find details below for the first week of our Under 10 Girls Development Program for Winter 2015.

With new players still coming in to the program, we will be running skills sessions for the first two - three weeks so we can finalise player numbers and allocate new players to teams as necessary before we commence a proper season fixture.

During this time, players have the choice to attend either skills session, depending on suitability of time/venue:

  • 5.00pm at Drysdale: Skills clinic
  • 5.00pm at Ocean Grove: Skills clinic

We would welcome any new players to either of the above Skills Sessions. Feel free to bring along friends and family who may be interested in joining our program.

Further information:

Age group: Under 10 Girls (for girls born 2006 – 2009)

Day: Monday afternoons, running throughout Terms 2 & 3 (no games over the July school holidays) – commencing Monday 13th April 2015

Times: games are played at 4.00pm or 5.00pm

Venues: games will be held at both Bellarine Aquatic & Sports Centre (Shell Rd, Ocean Grove) and Bellarine Sports Centre (Bellarine Secondary College, Peninsula Dve, Drysdale)

Program structure for the Season (following initial three weeks): the program/fixture will run as follows:

  • Approx 15mins skills session followed by modified basketball game (two 10-12 minute halves)
  • There may be weeks where the skills session is not held (for various reasons), in such instance, two 18 minute halves will be played.

Costs:

Game fee: The 10G program incurs a weekly $6.50 game fee. This is to be paid to Customer Service Staff at the venue, who will issue you with a game ticket. This game ticket must be placed into your team’s ticket bag. (Staff will assist with this on the night if you are unsure).

Registration fee: Player Registration is normally $58, however BPBA subsidises this amount for all girls in our Development Program with the fee being reduced to $40 (this amount includes affiliation with BPBA, registration with Basketball Victoria, and player insurance). Players who registered for the Summer 2014/15 Season do not need to re-register (as registration fee covers two consecutive seasons).  New players must pay this fee by Monday 27th April.  No exceptions.
Registration is online; head to our website (www.bpba.org.au) and follow the Online Registration link on the top menu bar.

Uniforms:

Shorts: All players will require their own navy blue basketball shorts (no pockets).

Singlets: BPBA will provide singlets for players.  These will be distributed by week four.

I think I’ve covered all the required information above. Please contact me if you have any queries or concerns.
