Dear Basketball .....
A long-retired former player from the Colac Basketball Association, recently came across his playing singlet from his senior and junior days playing with the Saints Basketball Club.
After playing his first game in the old tin shed at the showgrounds as a 7 year old in the early 70's, in an U14 competition (there was no U10 or U12 competition to play in), the player progressed through to the famed 'rec centre' and continued playing through his teenage years and adult life.
Still heavily involved in the sport locally, the player now long retired, found a short piece written by Kobe Bryant that details what the game means to him, one of the greatest players the world has ever seen.
Whether you are a first timer, a maybe player or the GOAT - basketball is still life.
