The London 2012 Games venue for wheelchair rugby has proven to be a happy hunting ground for Australia after day one of the Paralympic Test Event.
The Australian Steelers made an emphatic start to the two-day tournament on Wednesday by defeating Canada 56-52, before thumping reigning European champions Sweden 65-48.
Both victories laid the platform for what will be an intriguing final day, which will see the Aussies meet Great Britain in their last round robin match ahead of their all-important gold medal final eight hours later.
With the weight of a host nation on the shoulders, Great Britain was also highly impressive on day one to emerge undefeated with strong wins over Sweden (48-36) and Canada (63-62).
The honour of winning the first wheelchair rugby tournament at the amazing Paralympic venue is now on the line, with just 132 days to go until the London Paralympic Games opening ceremony.
