Voices of the Athletes to get IOC support

A member of the International Olympic Committee Athletes Commission is in Noumea, New Caledonia to see firsthand the work undertaken by Voices of the Athletes (VOA) program officers in Oceania.

Pedro Yang says Oceania is the first region to organise the Voices of the Athletes program at such meet and he hopes that it could also be conducted by other regions in the Olympic family.
The Guatemalan badminton star who’s now based in the Netherlands says he’ll be pushing for IOC to financially support such initiatives.

He understands the VOA program has been done with limited resources.
Former Olympic gold medalists Barbara Kendall of New Zealand, Natalie Cook of Australia and Maurice Green will arrive in Noumea to support the VOA programme.
