“They” are men and women who are responsible for house rule compliance at venues and, of course, at the Games Village.
Most of them are either following a professional course in accident prevention and safety or are security professionals who have taken leave to volunteer.
Their job is safety management with a firm and courteous hand. Depending on the number of spectators expected, they either operate unaided or with the help of private security company staff, or police.
They have an important role to play since they ensure that everyone can thoroughly enjoy the Games… in complete safety.
