BVDL WEEK 5 GAME PREVIEWS

BVDL MEN

BENDIGO vs BALLARAT

Saturday 21st April – 6:00pm

Both teams have struggled so far this season, but country rivalry always brings out the best in both teams.

KNOX vs SANDRINGHAM

Saturday 21st April – 6:00pm

After a disappointing 42pt loss to Kilsyth last week, the Raiders have shown a slight sign of vulnerability when leaders Dyson and Hare don’t play.  With both these players unavailable again this week it is an excellent chance for Sandringham to secure the win and re-join the top four.

KILSYTH vs DANDENONG

Saturday 21st April – 6:15pm

Kilsyth have shown clear championship favouritism after a devastating performance against Knox last week.  Coach Rod Popp has a wealth of young talent, and the luxury of multiple players capable of producing high quality games.

FRANKSTON vs DANDENONG

Sunday 22nd April – 12:00pm

After four games at home to start the season the Rangers will be tested this week with their first road game.  Rangers have an experienced and very talented coach in Duncan Berg so shouldn’t have any problems securing the victory over on the road over Frankston this week.

BALLARAT vs KNOX

Sunday 22nd April – 12:00pm

Knox has a depleted team this week, giving the Miners every chance of securing the upset victory. Miners Lindsay Cole had a great game against Sandringham last week and will need to produce another high quality performance for his team to have any chance of getting the win this week.

NUNAWADING vs KILSYTH

Sunday 22nd April – 12:00pm

Nunawading have slowly been going about their business so far this season, and have a chance of moving into second place should results go their way this week.  This game is crucial for head to head results come the end of the season as both should figure prominently in playoffs this year.

BVDL WOMEN

BENDIGO vs BALLARAT

Saturday 21st April – 6:00pm

Both teams are yet to secure a victory this season, but country bragging rights are also at stake, so expect a high quality game from both teams.

KNOX vs SANDRINGHAM

Saturday 21st April – 6:00pm

Sandringham scored their first win last week, but may struggle against the talented Raiders line-up this week.  The Raiders will be without key players again this week due to commitments with the SEABL team, but still have a team full of talent capable of securing the win this week.

KILSYTH vs DANDENONG

Saturday 21st April – 6:15pm

Dandenong are the clear favourites for back to back championships after defeating Knox by 19pts last week.  Coach Paul Flynn has a team full of promising youngsters that will be hard to beat this season.

FRANKSTON vs DANDENONG

Sunday 22nd April – 12:00pm

The Lady Blues have been successful this season thanks largely to the efforts of Carly Chatfield and Rebecca Swaine.  They along with Douglas, Joliffe and Smith will need to produce a solid team performance to defeat the undefeated Rangers

BALLARAT vs KNOX

Sunday 22nd April – 12:00pm

Ballarat have a depleted team due to key players at National U/18 Championships.  The Rush may struggle to be competitive against the second placed Raiders outfit.

NUNAWADING vs KILSYTH

Sunday 22nd April – 12:00pm

If Nunawading win this game and the Lady Cobras lose both matches this week it will be a huge gap between the fourth and fifth placed teams.  Kilsyth need to secure at least one win this week to stay in contention for a top four berth.
