Shepparton News - By Gregor Mactaggart

Shepparton United ran riot against crosstown rival Shepparton in a lopsided under-15/ under-16 girls’ contest at Central Park on Sunday.

Sarah Loverso followed up her five-goal heroics from seven days earlier with a hat-trick against the Reds, who had little answer to the Blues’ relentless attacking pressure in the 10-1 result.

Isabella Darbyshire and Chelsea Georgiou added braces, while Georgia Redwood, Taylor Zito and Olivia Saron also hit the back of the net.

The lone joy for Shepparton came courtesy of Alicia Rowan, her second goal in as many matches.

In the boys’ under-17 competition, Shepparton South hammered Cobram Roar 7-1 highlighted by doubles to Mehdi Khademi and Suleyman Tonc.

Cihan Baser proved the match-winner as Tatura defeated Shepparton South 1-0 at McEwen Reserve.

Four goals to striker Moses Biemba was a highlight as Shepparton South steamrolled Tatura 10-1 in under-14 action.

Biemba was one of seven different goalscorers for South, with his string quartet joined by singles to Joshua Bulte, Tarkan Simsek, Joel Carey, Jonah Thomson, Darcy Keck and Royce Cavallaro.

Tatura’s only goal came from the now customary source of Ismet Uguz.

Kyabram Phoenix scored a 3-2 win against Cobram Roar, with Aidan Armstrong, Hassan Aber and Charlie Lloyd on the board for the winners.

In the mixed under-12 competition, Shepparton defeated Shepparton United 3-2, Shepparton South put four goals past Tatura and a solitary goal helped Cobram Roar account for Kyabram Phoenix.
