PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland fans are gaining unprecedented insights into tactics, strategy and player selections thanks to Football Queensland’s content partnership with audioBoom.

This season, Football Queensland is including post-match interviews with players and coaches in PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland match reports via audioBoom’s embedded player on the competition’s official website.

The interviews have generated over 17,000 listens in the first two months and Queensland is the only PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues division to offer fans access to interviews for every match.

audioBoom is a market leader in non-music audio streaming and is utilised by some of the biggest brands in world football including the Socceroos, as well as English Premier League and Hyundai A-League clubs.

audioBoom Head of Operations in Australia and New Zealand, Blair Hughes, said the content partnership with Football Queensland provided unprecedented insight for PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland supporters.

“Football Queensland have taken a great step forward in terms of audio engagement for football fans and members by giving them access to high quality content via audioBoom,” Hughes explained.

“Football teams the world over are bringing a new approach to the fan experience through audioBoom and thus bringing fans closer to the action both on and off the field.”

“Our content partnership with Football Queensland is another big step in growing our global user base and spreading impressive audio content from what’s going on in the world game across Queensland.”

Football Queensland Editor and Media Co-Ordinator, Michael Flynn, said the response from PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland clubs and supporters to audioBoom content had exceeded expectations.

“The feedback from our audience to audioBoom has been excellent. They have embraced the technology and it shows there really is an appetite for high-quality media content in second tier football in Australia,” Flynn explained.

“Football fans want to hear the views of players and coaches. It enables fans to feel part of the club, and as well they should because they are spending time, money and emotional energy supporting their team.”

“Keeping fans at arms-length is just not an option anymore because while social media and the internet is offering great communication opportunities, it has also increased competition for the public’s attention.”

Flynn added, "Football Queensland is continually identifying new technologies that assist and alleviate administrative burdens on clubs in a range of areas."

“As part of this the Football Queensland Media Department are assisting our NPL clubs to increase their fan engagement via new media technologies that will benefit the fans, increase brand exposure for clubs and sponsors, and grow football’s public profile in Queensland - audioBoom is proving a big part of this."

To that end, Hughes identified further upgrades to the audioBoom user experience in coming months and stressed that audioBoom continues to work closely with Football Queensland to identify, development and commercialise new content initiatives for PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland.

“As audioBoom is a free social sound platform that is very easy for even the non-digital savvy to use it means NPL teams do not need to invest in any devices, training or costly digital packages.”

“Just like Football Queensland and the NPL, audioBoom are kicking goals to the back of the net,” he concluded.
