Former Perth Glory midfielder Jess Dillon is settling back into life with The Gap Women after returning for the inaugural PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland Senior Women's season.

Dillon, a former Australia U17 international, spent the 2013/14 Westfield W-League season under Jamie Harnwell's guidance at Glory before a stint in the United States last year with the Toronto Lady Lynx.

Despite her strong pedigree, the 20-year-old was initially anxious about re-joining a club she spent time at as a teenager.

"Moving to The Gap was quite nerve-wracking as they are a quality side and from the outside looking in it looks to be a tight-knit group of players," Dillon said.

"Though all the girls were intimidating to play against they were all really welcoming and friendly.

"I'm loving coming to training each week to have a laugh as well as put the hard work in on the field."

Dillon is joined at Gators by three other players with Westfield W-League experience in Rebecca Price, Ruth Blackburn and Gabe Marzano, who last year won the premiership with Perth, in addition to Irish international Elaine Murray.

The midfielder is buoyed by the squad's mood after taking six points from their opening three matches.

"Both Seniors and Youth have impressed me as everyone is always working hard for themselves and for each other," the Queensland Academy of Sport product said.

"It's just a really good team environment."

Tipping UQFC as strong opposition, Dillon is already aiming to add to her list of achievements with an appearance in the PlayStation 4 NPL Queensland Grand Final.

"I'm hoping to learn from the quality players at the club and to keep improving as a player as well as making the Grand Final," she said.

Gators' next match is away to Souths United at Wakerley Park on Sunday afternoon.
