Palm Beach SC must overcome Hyundai A-League outfit Western Sydney Wanderers to progress to the Westfield FFA Cup Quarter-Finals for a second straight year.

Sharks were handed a home tie against the reigning AFC Champions League winners in Wednesday’s Round of 16 draw, broadcast live on Fox Sports.

Grae Piddick’s side prevailed 8-7 on penalties against Victorian powerhouse South Melbourne two weeks ago to further their burgeoning reputation as a Cup force.

Welcoming Wanderers presents Sharks’ toughest challenge since being knocked out of last year’s competition by Central Coast Mariners, when a late onslaught put an end to the Gold Coast club’s eye-catching run.

Wanderers, the first Australian club to be crowned Asian champions, could include former Palm Beach SC junior Mitch Nichols in their travelling party after the midfielder played 90 minutes in Tuesday night’s 1-0 win over Brisbane Roar.

Sharks will need to overcome indifferent league form to topple the two-time Hyundai A-League Grand Finalists as two straight defeats have all but mathematically ended their chances of retaining PlayStation® 4 NPL Queensland silverware.

Football Federation Australia will announce specific match details including dates, venues, kick-off times and broadcast details for the Round of 16 by Friday, 14 August 2015.

The eight matches will be played across two of 25 August, 26 August, 1 September and 2 September.

FOX SPORTS will broadcast a match on both nights of the Round of 16 and provide updates and crosses to the other six matches, which will also be live streamed.
