Olympic FC are out of the Westfield FFA Cup for 2016 after being stunned 4-1 by unheralded local side Moggill FC at Goodwin Park.

Playing at the scene of their famous 2014 victory in the same competition over Melbourne Knights, Olympic were humbled and out-played by their fourth tier opponents.

Samuel Chesterfield scored twice to add to Kisuke Uga’s penalty spot opener to all but seal the win just after the hour for the Capital League One outfit.

Olympic pulled a goal back via Sam Cronin midway through the second stanza, however there would be no comeback as substitute Nicholas Whitehouse sealed the win in the closing minutes.

Moggill now progress as one of eight Brisbane-based sides to Preliminary Round 6 as the continue their farthest advance ever in the competition.

What They Said

“We deserved to lose. Moggill played fantastic tonight but regardless, that’s not good enough. This is Olympic, we’re meant to be one of the best teams in Brisbane. We’ve changed tactics, formations and coaches - the only thing we as players can do is look at the last thing responsible which is us. We aren’t good enough. They looked like an NPL side and we looked like a Cap 3 side.” – Nicholas Mooney, Olympic FC goalkeeper
