UQFC Women have taken all three points home from Mallawa Complex after a narrow 2-1 win over Gold Coast City Women on Saturday afternoon.

The Round 10 rescheduled fixture closed UQ's gap to the top four sides on the PlayStation 4 NPL Women’s Queensland ladder courtesy of strikes from Linley Archard and Mikaela Disavia.

Teleya Reynolds' opportunistic strike cancelled out Archard’s quick-fire goal, however, UQ’s persistence was rewarded in the second-half following a goal mouth scramble that allowed Disavia to find the back of the net.

UQ duo Mariel Hecher and Lana Harch led the way for UQ, testing the City defence all match.

City will now refocus for their Round 13 clash against SWQ Thunder Women in Toowoomba whilst UQ will host Brisbane Olympic Women.
