Working with Children Checks & Member Protection Declaration
YMBA Coaches
It is now compulsory for all coaches to have:
1) A current Victorian Working with Children’s Check that has Yarrawonga Mulwala Basketball Assoc linked to it (Teachers are exempt, but must supply their VIT teachers number to YMBA)
2) A signed Statutory Declaration of the “Member’s Protection Declaration” form.
If you do not have a Working with Children’s Check:
You will need to apply for one ASAP to be able to coach. This is a free Check and can be done online at http://www.workingwithchildren.vic.gov.au/
You can fill in the online form then finalise your application at the Post Office with a photo.
Renewals and personal detail updates can also be done online.
If you do have a current Working with Children’s Check, but DO NOT have our association linked to it:
This can easily be done online by going to the above link and clicking on the “Update my details” area.
Once in this area, please update the “Organisation Details” to include Yarrawonga Mulwala Basketball Association.
A copy of your working with Childrens Check with valid number and expiry date, along with the signed Members Protection Declaration will then need to be handed to your age group manager so that we can add it to our register
