Round four of the AFL Canberra First Grade completion kicked off on Saturday afternoon at Kippax where Belconnen continued there perfect start to the season demolishing the Gungahlin Jets by 177 points.
The Magpies dominated the game from start to finish in a polished team display. Full forward Chris York lead the way kicking 12 majors to take his season total to 34.
Belconnen dominated all over the ground, with ruckman Brenton Joyce gIVING his teammates first use all day combining brilliantly with midfielders James Bennett, Ryan Turnbull and Isaac Taylor who were all dominant in the midfield.
Defenders Luke Wharton and Jack Baker were both solid for the Magpies once again whilst small forward Jacob Taylor looked dangerous all day snaring four goals.
Gungahlin battled hard throughout the game but were unable to ever really threaten Belconnen, midfielder Jed Costigan was the Jets best performer.
The second of the Saturday games was played in Queanbeyan and the Tigers were far too strong for a young Eastlake side. The Tigers lead at every change to eventually prevail by 144 points.
Forwards Ben Fulford and Brett Fruend were dangerous for the Tigers whilst Paul Williams kicked six majors in his first game for 2015. Coach Kade Klemke was again amongst the Tigers best kicking four goals from the midfield.
Ben Ayre was the best for a Demons side whio will be hoping to secure their first win in 2015 when they take on fellow NEAFL club Ainslie.
Round Four wrapped up on Sunday afternoon at Greenway Oval with the Tuggeranong Hawks making it three wins in a row, overcoming a persistent Ainslie side.
The Hawks lead at every change but could never bury the Tri Colours until a three goal to one final term sealed the deal to give the Hawks a 23 point victory.
Defensive trio Matt Bernasconi, Dave Smith and Chris Robinson rebounded well all day for the Hawks, while midfielders Ben Cleaver and Sean Kelly were both damaging for the victors.
Ainslie midfielder Lachie Harper was a solid contributor once again while young defender Max Richardson battled hard all day.
