A CALL FOR CHAMPIONS!

Basketball Fiji is inviting young enthusiastic basketball players who want to became a HIV/AIDS champion. The program which is managed by our partners FASANOC and UNAIDS will train champions on HIV, public speaking and life skills to advocate for HIV awareness and prevention.

The aim of the program is to use the power of sport in the response to HIV.

This will be achieved in the following ways-

1.  1. Educating Elite Athletes about HIV and engaging athletes to help influence and educate other members of the community.

2.  2. Running awareness and prevention activities at sports events, in schools and with youth groups.

    3. Working in partnership with a range of sectors-government, non government, community groups and sports organizations.

Basketball Fiji fully supports this imitative and would like to extend the invitation to all affiliated players to the federation. If you think you have what it takes to become a champion please contact Laisiasa Puamau on puamau_lai@yahoo.com. Registration closers on Tuesday 15th December, 2009.

Comment Guidelines: The SportsTG Network is made up of players, families and passionate sports followers like you who have a strong opinion about sport. That's great - we want you to have your say and share your thoughts with the world. However, we have a few rules that you must follow to keep it fun for all. Please don't be rude, abusive, swear or vilify others. Apart from some pretty serious sport sanctions, we also can ban you and report you if things get out of hand. So play fair and have fun, and thanks for your contribution.
