Top basketball reps to visit Fiji

FIBA Oceania officials Steve Smith and Regan Kama are in the country to watch the National Easter Championships to see basketball developments in our country. They are representatives of Basketball Fiji's International body. "They were very impressed with the amount of work we had been conducting here and decided to come and have a look themselves," said Basketball Fiji's development officer Laisiasa Puamau. The two FIBA officials will be chief guests at the Easter Champs which will begin on March 30 to April 3. "They expressed their interest in watching the tournament and we are more than happy to have them with us," said Puamau. "It is going to be very competitive because we only want the best from every association to compete." Basketball Fiji will be hosting the championship while last year's Easter champs Shaq Attaq will be without their main-man -- point guard player Puamau -- who will be co-ordinating the tournament.
