ACS, Marist, Yat Sen lead in basketball

Adi Cakobau School, Marist Brothers’ High and Yat Sen lead the Under-19 charge in the Suva Secondary School Basketball competition. The girls from Sawani lead the girls tally while Marist and YSS share in the boys standing. Basketball Fiji development officer Laisiasa Puamau says ACS is the team to beat in the girl's division having remained undefeated in the competition; the fifth round of which was played yesterday. "Last week they stamped the biggest upset when they defeated defending champions Latter Day Saints. “Today (yesterday) they did the same against Yat Sen, winning the match 21-8. YSS is one of the traditional giants of the competition. “They have established themselves as the team to beat in the competition," Puamau said. "In the boys division, defending champions Yat Sen is tied at the top with runners-up, Marist." Puamau says positions in the boy's division will become clearer next week when the two teams take to the court against each other.
