Opening Ceremony - Twisties Games

OPENING CEREMONY

The Twisties National Secondary Schools Basketball Championship will be held on the 30th August - 1st September 2010 at the Vodafone Arena and Ed's court, Raiwaqa. The tournament will begin with an opening ceremony at the Vodafone Arena on Monday at 8.30am. All teams and schools with the exception of the U17 boys teams have been requested to be present at the opening ceremony which will end at 9.15am. Chief Guest and General Manager of Twisties Mr Shaun Joils will be present to open the tournament. After the formalities participants will be divided into four groups and all have an equal opportunity to participate in HIV/AIDS, referees and basketball skill clinics. The competition proper for the U15 & U19 grades for both boys and girls will commence at 9.30am at the Vodafone Areana while Ed's court in Raiwaqa will play host to the U17 pool games. The pool rounds will be completed on Tuesday the 2nd July 2010 at the two venues. The knockout stages will be held on the final day (Wednesday 1st September 2010) for all three age groups and will be closed with a prize giving presentation at the end of the final games. Registered players, referees, coaches and volunteers will enter the games venue for free while spectators will be charged $2.00 per person. kids under the age of 10 years old will enter for free.
