Basketball goes by the lane
THE Raiwaqa Basketball Association is implementing the new Inter-Lane Knockout tournament to lift the standard of the sport. Association president Saula Koroi says they are heading to a different dimension for the new season. He said all national reps in the club teams would play for their respective lanes or streets according to their residencies. "This development program will give upcoming players a chance of playing against the national reps," Koroi said. The three-week knockout tournament begins at Ed's Court this weekend. Koroi said 12 teams had confirmed their registrations. "The men's teams are confirmed and we are urging the women's teams to join the competition." He said former national reo Aggie Sokosoko will assist the women's development programmes. He added players will represent their respective clubs during national championships.
