Shaq Attaq Theives On 3 ON 3

Shaq Attack is the team to beat Post Fiji Raiwai Developmental Basketball Association 3on3 today at the Raiwai Youth Centre.

Led by national coaches Lai Puamau and David Whippy, Shaq-Attack dominated the midweek encounter on Wednesday.

The coaches put on a great performance for their team and helped them defeated the champion Knights with the likes of national basketball rep and Naitasiri rugby player Iowane Naivalurura.

Raiwai development officer Kelevi Serukalou said the Shaq-Attack from Suva had been the top team in the competition after they revived the 3on3 basketball this year.

Serukalou said more teams around Suva area had shown their interest in participating at the 3on3 competition.

He said the skills displayed by these teams had boosted the morale of young players in the U12, 15and 17 grades in Raiwai and spectators admired the new skills displayed taking the competition level to new heights.

“Shaq team was the top bet and led by the national coaches Puamau and Whippy the side displayed new admirable skills which boosted the morale of young players along the Raiwai corridor,” Serukalou said.

“The spectators were entertained with skills and the speed of the teams. They cheered and supported their teams as the competition went on through out the evening.”

“It was a great night and even we in Raiwai were marveled with the performance of teams that participated in the 3on3,” he said.

“We learned new moves and the Shaq team was a class of their own especially being led by the experience hands of Whippy and Puamau.”

He also thanked Salvation Army in Raiwai for providing chairs for the spectators.

Competition continues at the Raiwai Youth Centre today.
