Round 3 - 20th April 2013

AFLSC Seniors Round 3 called off for today. All grounds closed due to wet weather.

At this stage games will be postponed until 29th June 2013.

AFL South Coast 2013 Season Launch

AFL on the South Coast commences this evening with the Chairman, Peter Riley, at a function for Club Presidents, potential Sponsors, Players and Coaches, officially launching the 2013 playing season here on the South Coast.

Mr. Riley said that “In 2011 three league competitions of AFL in the Illawarra & South Coast were amalgamated to form AFL South Coast that now incorporates 26 clubs including 7 youth girls teams, over 2,700 participants on the field with more than 400 hundred volunteers involved in facilitating our game as umpires, officials and volunteers on game day.”

“AFL continues to grow in participation and involvement here in the region and the Board looks forward to facilitating this growth through simplified structures including the recent release of singular new playing By-Laws that cover all competitions”, said Mr Riley.

Mr. Riley said that “AFLCS 2013 season will see teams from the Northern Districts of the Illawarra to Batemans Bay and out as far as the Sthn Highlands, that will include Seniors in first & reserve grades, U18's to Auskick, Womens & Youth Girls, AFL 9's , Masters”.

Mr. Riley also took the opportunity to welcome the Sydney Swans Players & Coaches visiting the region on a 2013 Players camp and also thanked the Local AFL Development team lead by Dave Johnson.

  AFL Premiership Cup on Show at the Show 

The AFL Premiership Cup was on Show at the Dapto Show on Saturday 19th January. It was a big hit with Swans fans and Show regulars.

Fans could get up close and personal, with many making the most of this unique opportunity to get photos. There was a real buzz of excitement from fans as they lived out fantasies of holding an AFL Premiership Cup. 

Mick Martin from Swans Fan Development and our local game development staff worked tirelessly all day promoting AFL to the locals of Dapto.
