THE Tathra Sea Eagles are spreading their wings for the club’s first away game.
The Eagles will hit the road to take on the Narooma Lions and Bill Smyth Memorial Oval in Narooma.
Coach Reggie O’Loghlin said the club had been at home for a number of weeks.
“It should be good, its our first away game of the year,” O’Loghlin said.
“We’ve organised a bus so we’re going to try and all stay together as a group.”
There will only be the one senior game on the day so just 20 players will be travelling up.
The team is feeling confident after demolishing the Bermagui Breakers in the Kenny Jack Cup.
“We just have to have our minds switched on to expect anything,” O’Loghlin said.
Similary, the Eagles have been a little unsure of their own roster until game day.
“It’s hard to implement that [game plan] at the moment,” O’Loghlin said.
“But with that said, most people know the game plan and those who’ve been filling in for us have done a good job.
“So it hasn’t been a problem at all.”
The Eagles boast a versatile line-up of players and there have been a few standouts across the park.
“Tyler Rose and Jason Ainsworth working through the midfield.
“If they’re on and ferocious with their tackling, it sets a standard for the rest of the guys.
“It all starts in there.”
The backline has also been a strong point for Tathra he said.
“We know we can kick a score against any team, it’s just a matter of keeping our backline strong and winning the ball in the midfield.”
The club is urging supporters to head along and the cheer the team to a win.
“It would be good to go to the break with a win and then regroup to take on Pambula,” O’Loghlin said.
