Jamaica stood at ease during the playing of the anthems of Singapore and USA on Court2, in anticipation of a game that they must have known was going to be a real test of their skills. Malawi showed some real speed and agility during a game which was marred by some careless passing on both sides. Jamaica drew on their assets to get the ball into the hoops by tossing high lobs into the circle directed at goal shoot Romelda Aiken whose height proved a definite advantage over her shorter opponents. Although she didn’t have their height, the goal shoot for Malawi was equally accurate with her shots at goal whenever the ball got down to her zone. Jamaica eventually came out on top 76-35, but it was by no means a walkover. Singapore won their game against USA, 59-23.
