Tura will be concentrating on increasing membership across all age groups, starting with a year 5 and 6 competition towards the end of term 1 in 2010. Also, Tura will be visiting all clubs and making contact with all primary and intermediate schools. Badminton Manawatu's website will have regular updates and badminton will be mentioned in local papers and hopefully on the radio. In March we will be hosting an umpires course for those wishing to become a qualified umpire or if you wish to learn the rules of badminton.

This is the first time Manawatu has been in a position to have a paid employee and I wish to sincerely thank all those that have helped make this possible.
My thanks to the sub-committee members, Kerri Tostevin (Hawkes Bay) and to Richard, Greg and all other volunteers from the North Islands that we rely on each year. Profit made from the North Islands has been set aside for this role, together with funding applications, we hope that this role will be here for many years to come.
