Men's Singles Final: Dylan Henton vs. Hamish Ledger

It was a close contest as indicated with the first set as it was point for point early in the game. Hamish created a slight lead with Dylan closing the game to take it to setting. It was Hamish who took the first set to 27-25. In the second set Dylan got off to a flying start and shot out to a 7-3 lead. Then with a series of mini breaks took out the second set 21-17. In the third set Hamish opened up with a strong start and took the lead at the turn of 11-3 Dylan clawed his way to close 10-11 before Hamish opened up with abreact of 7 unanswered points to lead 18-11 While Dylan picked up more points Hamish ran out the winner of the final set 21-13. Hamish Ledger defeated Dylan Henton 27-25, 17-21, 21-13 to become BOP Men’s Singles Champion 2011

Ladies Singles

This was decided in a round robin format much to the delight of some of the older players resulting in five games of singles for all competitors. Amy Wright won all of her games in two sets to become BOP Ladies Singles Champion for 2011 Runner up was Lisa Ainsley who edged out Lee Anne Fraser

 1st Amy Wright, 2nd Lisa Ainsley 3rd Lee Anne Frazer.

Ladies Doubles Final

After Round robin pool play, singles champion, Amy Wright and Denise Johnson qualified along with Erin Swanson and Eve Cooper for the finals. In the first set both pairs traded point for point and was locked up at 14 all. Amy and Denise had a mini break of two points when Eve and Erin rattled off the remaining points to take the first set 21-14. In the second set the pattern was repeated for the first 14 points till Amy and Denise edged out Erin and Eve to take the second set 21-17. In the third set Erin and Eve got off to a good start to take the lead at the turn 11-3. Amy and Denise clawed their way back to 14 all. However Eve and Erin hung on with tenacious attacks to take the third set and the match 21-16 Eve Swanson and Erin Cooper defeated Amy Wright and Denise Johnston 21-14, 17-21, 21-16 to become BOP Ladies Doubles Champions 2011

Men Doubles Finals

After two round robin rounds Dylan and Joel Henton were matched up against Kane Spiers and Hamish Ledger. It was a close tightly fought final with long rallies with both sides punishing any loose play. It was the steady and consistent play of Hamish and Kane who took the match out in two sets. Hamish Ledger and Kane Spires defeated Dylan and Joel Henton to become BOP Men’s Doubles Champions 2011

 Mixed Doubles Finals

The finalist after round robin play was pairing of Denise Johnston and Dylan Henton verses Lee Anne Fraser and Joel henton. In the first set Denise established dominance to take the first set 21-12. In the second set Denise and Dylan shot out to a 17-7 lead. Joel and Lee Anne closed it up to 13-17, however Denise and Dylan closed out the match 21-13 in the most one sided final of the day. Denise Johnston and Dylan Henton defeated Joel Henton and Lee Anne Frazer 21-12, 21-13 to become BOP Mixed Doubles Champions.
