Eagles Lacrosse Club announces its Senior Women's Coach for season 2015
The Eagles Lacrosse Club is very pleased to announce the appointment of Kate Opolski to the position of Senior Women's Coach for Season 2015. Kate brings with her a wealth of on field experience including many years of State representation, Australian duties in the U23 ASPAC team New Zealand 2011 and a year at Mercyhurst University, Erie Pennsylvania.
Kate says "Whilst their Senior Women’s program is still in a development stage this is what probably excites me the most about the opportunity. There's a lot of buzz around what's happening at the Eagles at the moment. They’ve moved into a new home ground, have a great bunch of younger players who are very committed to their sport and a number of strong experienced players as well. I'm excited by the opportunity to work with the club and looking forward to bringing my skills and experiences to the team”.
Alongside her on field coaching, Kate also brings with her a passion for developing great lacrosse players off the field as well and says “Creating a strong bond amongst the senior playing squad and forming them into a tight knit unit on and off the field will be one of my objectives. I’ve been part of that type of environment over the years and it is a very important contributor to overall team success”.
Eagles Senior Women's rep Michelle Groves is also extremely excited by the announcement "The club has been trying to build a senior program for a number of years now but we've never had a coach the calibre of Kate before. Add to that our OS imports who will be arriving in May and we're looking forward to being very competitive in our first year in Division 1".
