Aussies another one up on Kiwis

AUSTRALIA looks set to take out at least two grades with the their Mixed team and Under 23's beating New Zealand teams for the second time in their Day 5.

Apart from New Zealand, the Fiji Mixed One team is the other threat after drawing with the Aussies on Day 4 of competition.

The Mixed team scored 57-48 against the Kiwis while their Under 23's looked more impressive with their 43-33.

In the U23 match, NZ captain Junior Tana was reshuffled from Centre to Goal Attack in the last quarter to add some thrust within the circle but Australia Goal Keeper Nicholas Ebner rose to his challenge.

New Zealand managed to outscore their opponents in only the second quarter (12-10), but Australia's consistency throughout saw them inch away slowly as the game progressed.

The Mixed category was a somewhat closer match with both teams just playing a match before hand with scores ending 57-48.

New Zealand took the first quarter 14-13 but the Australians pulled it up 17-10 in the second and maintained their lead to the end.
