The date for the start of the 2013 Junior Competition has been set. Friday 17th AUGUST will see the U14s and U16s start and Saturday 18th AUGUST will be kick off date for the U6s to U12s. Full information and forms can be found in the DOCUMENTS Tab on this site......

CQ Under 18 Boys and Girls teams will be selected to compete at the National Youth Championships at Kawana in September at a MUSTER DAY here in Rockhampton on Sunay 16th June (venue and times to be announced). Interested boys and girls need to send the completed form to CQTA (download from this item) by Friday 24th May.

The final session before selection for the Rocky U16 Girls team for JSC will be held Monday 29th April at Colts Fields from 5pm to 7pm. All interested players should attend this session if they would like to be considered for selection.

This Sunday 28th April will be the last training session before the U16 Boys team is selected for the Junior State Cup. The session will be held at Voss Park (Cnr Albert & West Sts) from 3pm to 5.30pm. Last call for players interested in selection in the representative team for U16 Boys.

Due to unforeseen circumstances, the training for the U12 Girls will be changed to Friday afternoons from 4.00pm to 5.15pm still at Frenchville State School and starting this Friday 26th April. This Friday will be the LAST session before selections for the Junior State Cup team. Anyone who is interested in this event should attend Friday's training.

The State Junior Championships will be held here in Rockhampton on Friday 30th / Saturday 31st August / Sunday 1st September. The state's best junior players from Under 12s through to Under 16s will be on show.

Due to work on our fields not being done as scheduled by council,they are still very uneven and unsafe for competition. We have sourced a company to carry out this levelling work at our expense but they are unable to start until two weeks after Easter (very close to our new start date). This means we will not be able to hold a competition as hoped in season one this year........

Unfortunately all this rain came before the council was able to do any repairs to the fields. They now have to wait until the ground is dry enough to get tractors etc on without doing further damage (hopefully by the end of this week). Once they have been able to get repairs under way, we should be able to get a better idea on when we might be able to commence our season. More...

What a tremendous turn out for the 2013 Junior Development Day last Sunday! The biggest surprise was the number of girls moving into Touch with huge growth in the girls 10 and 12 years groups. Despite the very humid conditions, the morning was a great success with record numbers attending. Thank you to the parents/guardians who gave up their Sunday morning to bring the children along. With the fields once again damaged by flood, repairs are still being carried out and we ask that NO TRAINING or other activities be conducted on ANY of the fields for the time being please. The bottom fields have only just dried out over the past week and need to be nurtured for a few months to allow the volume of games that the juniors comp brings. Thank you all for your understanding!

We will be conducting two separate seasons of Junior Touch in 2013 - Season 1 (commencing 8th March) being held on Friday evenings and including U10s, U12s and U14s. Rockhampton Touch is registered with the state government "Get Started" funding program which gives financial assistance for children from 5 to 18 who can least afford it to participate in sports. Club or team organisers who receive a voucher (sample attached) can accept it as payment of registration and pass onto the association. More...

Six CQ Junior teams participated at the State Junior Championships in Brisbane over last weekend and all contained a large contingent of Rockhampton players. Though all teams performed well, the Under 16 Girls team was the only one to make a Grand Final (falling at the last hurdle to Sth West Qld). A reminder also that the complex is circled by a 'ONE WAY' ring road. The ring road provides plenty of parking with direct access to fields 8, 9 and 10.
