Congratulations to Kayla Manuirirangi (Southern Storm) and Connie Poletti (NPGHS Hawks) who have secured a spot in the NZ U17 team to compete in the Australian U17 National Championship to be held in Melbourne in September. Katherine Banks (99ers Meerkats) has also been announced in the squad as a non-travelling reserve.

All three have competed in NPBA Womens Premier league during 2013 with Banks team playing in the final against 99ers Pink on Saturday August 10th.

It has been a long challenging road to the National team with Coach Aik Ho not announcing his squad until after the BBNZ U17 Nationals held in North Harbour during the recent school holidays.  Both Poletti and Manuirirangi were named in the Tournament team at the National tournament.

The Taranaki U17 Womens team was placed a credible 4th which was a fantastic result for the first up NPBA and TCB combined Taranaki team this year.
