Clearances
In recent times, Basketball SA has detected a number of players that have played for a club despite not having received a clearance from a previous club. In these cases, all games played at the new club have been converted to forfeits, and the club has received a fine, as per the Basketball SA District By-Laws.
Basketball SA would like to remind all participants of the clearance process, which is summarised here:

In particular, a player who has played a game for any club in the district competition, or any club/association interstate or overseas, must receive a clearance before playing for any other club in the district competition. There are additional cases in which a clearance is required, though we are highlighting this one due to recent breaches.
