There is nothing like basketball indoors; whether you're a basketball enthusiast or not, there's something seducing about watching basketball indoors; Players seem to step up their games and the level of basketball in general tends to rise when the atmosphere is right. Appleby has made this possible for the first time as people of Cayman have witnessed the first ever Indoor league for teenagers. And what better timing could this be? Just recently a college recruiting seminar was held and now even more athletes are motivated to improve their court play as well as their grades;
A common theme arises; the need for video footage of an athlete for coach evaluation. Basketball indoors really adds to the professional look of video footage. It also serves as a testament to the organization for its committment to improving all facets of basketball in the Cayman Islands.
Thus far there are only 2 teams that remain undefeated in the boys league; Shockwaves of Beach Suites and The Water Authority Playmakers; Their inevitable showdown takes place on the 8th of November and fans are eager to see who will be victorious. There is no doubt that these are the top two teams in the league but each team is showcasing new talent.
For the ladies it seems like championship opportunity is wide open thus far with no team yet appearing to be extremely more dominant than another. The ladies have also shown improvement this year as intensity and passion have risen.
Games are played every Sunday at the ARC from 3- 7 p.m.Admission is $2.00 and season passes are available for only $10.00 and include admission to the playoffs.
