DBI had been struggling throughout the season, mainly because it was a new team, new players, self-managed and
no chemistry had been built yet. But as the season was progressing, so was DBI's level of play, they were responsible
for only 1 of the only two losses the National League champs Digicel had conceded. When they realised they had to
face the Digicel Powerhouse team, surprisingly they were not at all intimidated;
As they two teams faced off the defensive game plan for DBI was clear; force Digicel to shoot from the outside and
double team Michael Lubin everytime. DBI's defense had definitely suprised Digicel and when the Warriors got out
to their fast break game, the game was over. Digicel made a late run in the final two minutes of play. But when Lubin
and Mike Diamond had fouled out, leaving the defending champs with only four men on the court, it was clearly time
to face the music. DBI have won the first indoor league division 2 championship in their very first year as a team. An
accomplishment very few teams can boast.
