RIDDELL is flying under the radar in the Riddell District Football League.
And Bombers coach Troy Scoble does not mind it one bit.
All the talk over pre-season and during the opening rounds has been about the likes of Diggers Rest, Macedon, Sunbury Kangaroos and Romsey.
But Riddell — the competition’s 2013 premiers — has quietly gone about its business to post a 4-1 start to the season, proving it is again a genuine premiership contender.

“We’ve sort of been through that over the last couple of years. I think in 2013, we were a little bit the same, a bit under the radar. Then last year trying to go back-to-back there was a lot of focus on us, which we didn’t handle very well at all. But this year we’re a younger side and from our point of view we’ve just got to win the games that we can win and see what we can pinch when we play against a so-called better side of the comp.”
