In 2009 teams from the West Coast, the East Coast, the Huon and the Tasman Peninsula travelled to North Hobart Oval to vie for the Tassal Challenge Cup In addition some players will be given the opportunity to continue in Tasmania’s Talent Pathway for young talented footballers with a view to being considered for selection in Tasmania’s State teams at Under 16 and Under 18 level. A Best player from each team was awarded a new Sherrin football, courtesy of Tassal. West Coast extra information: The team were also very well supported by West Coast Football personalities, with John Dilger organising the team, Brett Schultz and Glenn Johnstone co-coaching the team and ex-State Player Tony “Bumpy” Triffett providing the mentoring pearls of wisdom.
