Congoo Through to State Squad

AFL Newcomer Nathaniel Congoo has been selected in the U/16 QLD Scorpions Squad.

Congoo, who only started playing AFL this year, starred for the Queensland Country Kookaburras at the recent State Championships held in Brisbane. He played a number of positions but probably felt most at home across the half forward line.

Nathaniel attends Kirwan High School and had previously been a representitive rugby league player but decided to give AFL a go after a school teacher had mentioned that he maybe suited to the code. He did the Townsville Eagles U/18 summer training program and continued on the the Eagles U/16 squad.

In a funny twist, Nat has played more representative games for Townsville and the Kookaburras than his local club team the Thuringowa Bulldogs!

Nathaniel would like to thank Jason Dowdell Painting Services who have been kind enough to help with team levies.
