"Positive or Pointless" Weekend

Hi all,

I am afraid with Community Football Weekend just past and Senior Rep the weekend before and a number of other recent projects the fact that this weekend coming is “Positive or Pointless” weekend had slipped under my guard.

Fortunately its implementation is not too difficult and the fact that it coincides with Local Derby Round at youth level it is quite timely.

“Positive or Pointless” is designed to give an early to mid season reminder to all officials, coaches, parents and players of how important it is to promote and encourage a positive environment for our youth and junior footballers. This of course to follow up on the AFL Kids First Meetings you all held during April!!!!!

All clubs will be provided this week with an envelope containing Positive and Pointless weekend resources to be used to get the message across. It is much the same as last year. The stickers and flyers are to be distributed to all team managers on Thursday night at training so they are in possession of them prior to this weekends matches.

Prior to all the weekend’s matches at U/10, 12, 14 and 17 Level the team captain will present their coach with a Super Positive Coach Sticker, the team manager will issue all players with a Super Positive Supporter Sticker and a Positive or Pointless flyer and all clubs hosting games are to place the posters in prominent places.

Clubs will be issued with resources this week.

Maryborough and Burrum by Josh Scanlon

Bay Power and Bombers by Anthony McDonald

I thank you all in your assistance to implement another vital program in the development of our code and more importantly the retention of or junior players into the future.

 Cheers,

Macka.
