The first semi-final played at Tansey Park, Home of the Logan Cobras, was between 3rd and 4th placed getters Morningside Wildcats and Kedron Lions. It was generally expected by most supporters of women's football that Morningside had had one of their best years and should win through to the preliminary final next weekend, however, someone forgot to tell Kedron.
Struggling for numbers most of the year Kedron put on a second quarter that had Morningside struggling to keep up. The Wildcats were always coming from behind and just couldn't pierce the Kedron defensive line. A great game to watch and a credit to women's football. Final score Morningside 6.2.38 def by Kedron 6.4.40.

The second semi-final was between 1st placed Logan and 2nd placed Western Magpies. Western Magpies had been ravaged by injury during the year but had managed to hold on to their second placing to win the right to the second chance play off.
Off to a flyer in the first quarter, Magpies scored 27 points to Logan 2 at the quarter time break. This snapped Logan out of any complacency they may have had to be only a goal down by the halftime break. From here the game was a battle of defence with only 15 points being scored in the last half between the two teams. Logan would have been ruing their wayward kicking fnishing up with a final score of 4.12.36 to Magpies 6.5.41. A great game thoroughly enjoyed by all who watched as well as the Logan Men's teams who came along to support their 06-08 Premiership Women's team.
