Socceroo Holman - CDSFA Patron

At last night's AGM, former CDSFA player, and current Socceroo player Brett HOlman was elected Patron of the CDSFA.

Brett started his junior football with Enfield Rovers, and has made a successful career playing football on the world stage, appearing at this years World Cup for Australia and scoring twice.

CDSFA President Frank Parisi has been in contact with Brett to ask him if he would be prepared to be elected Patronof his former Association.

"Brett has let me know that he is very excited and honoured to be CDSFA Patron".

He also said that he is "keen to come and visit the Association head office and looks forwarded to catching up with current junior players when he next returns home to Australia".

As part of being Patron for the CDSFA, Frank Parisi has advised Brett that we will be having the Under 12 Division 1 trophy and competition named after him, and the  junior players in that competition will be competing for the Brett Holman Trophy.

"Brett's election as Patron of the CDSFA follows the election of Tim Cahill and Mile Sterjovski as patrons as well, who also have the Under 10 and Under 11 division 1 trophy's named in their honour."

"To have 3 Socceroo players as our patrons, who have all been involved with football in the Canterbury District, is something that no other Association in Australia has. The addition of Brett HOlman to our Association will no doubt give our junior players something further to strive towards."
