




Manager – Umpires Department

Are you an accredited Level One Umpire’s Coach or on your way to attaining accreditation?

The DDJFL is recruiting a manager to recruit, develop, retain and grow the number of quality umpires and to manage the entire operations of the DDJFL Umpiring Department.
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and suitably qualified individual to assist/deal with the day to day operations of the DDJFL Umpires’ Department.
To be successful in this new position you will:
· Oversee the coaching, training, development and observation of umpires
· Appoint suitably qualified/accredited personnel to umpiring support positions
· Recruit and manage the umpires to develop and implement annual recruitment/retention programs
· Demonstrate innovation and a willingness to challenge convention
· Have an established background in the operation of an effective sporting organization
· Be adaptable to the needs of a vast range of ages
· Possess a high degree of communication and presentation skills
· Have a high degree of attention to detail
· Have a current Working with Children’s Certificate, and
· Have a current Victorian Driver’s License.
The successful applicant will be a DDJFL employee and will work closely with the DDJFL Project Manager and Working Party, to ensure efficient and effective operations of the DDJFL Umpires Department, and to drive further growth and development of the umpires in this proud and successful football league.
Note: Applicants must be prepared to work extended hours, including weekends during periods when matches are fixtured.
