Exciting new experiement at 3x3 Youth Championships
Nomination forms have been sent to hundreds of high schools and basketball asssociations on the east coast of Australia. FIBA Oceania hopes to have 72 teams (36 girls and 36 boys) teams participating in the Championship and with 10 boys and 10 girls International teams already nominated, they believe the additional 26 boys and 26 girls 'domestic' teams is a real possibility.
Already teams have nominated from Bundaberg in north Queensland, from Queensland's Gold Coast and from Sydney. Interest has been recieved from teams from NSW's central coast as well as regional centres around Coffs Harbour. Nominations for domestic teams does not close until early May, but organisers will be working hard over the next couple of weeks to reach to goal of 72 teams.
