In the second half, they extended their lead through quick turnovers after Churchie failed to convert on several occasions. Being the more skilled team, Grammar was able to exploit their opponents and kick goals from the limited opportunities, while Churchie, who dominated play were unable to finish their hard work. At the end of the third quarter, the teams remained close but it was Grammar who had asserted their dominance on the scoreboard.
Venturing into the final term, Churchie was able to make the best of the initial centre clearances though still struggled to convert. However, persistence prevailed resulting in strong marks and goals to many of their key forwards. Unfortunately for the home team, Grammar stuck hard once more and kicked 2 quick goals, extending their lead further. Despite Churchie’s best efforts late in the quarter, the game was well and truly won and Grammar ran away in a hard fought game
