Sheldon get a tight win in rivalry round

Maybe it was past experiences or possibly the late arrival of the Sheldon boys, gave Ormiston the opportunity to lose focus. This was evident in the first quarter when Sheldon's captain Max Beattie slotted the first goal and OC were looking three goals down in the first five minutes. To the OC boys credit they slowed the scoring and kicked one themselves, quarter time score being 3,3 to 1,0.

After the first break the OC boys seemed to have a desire to win and this showed when key midfielders including Sam Godfrey and AJ McCoy lead the way and provided ball inside Sheldon's defensive 50 several times. However, Sheldon were up for the challenged, resulting in a low, tight scoring quarter. The persist barrage of OC's attack proved finally to much for the Sheldon defence, with OC scoring two quick goals, half time score being 4,4 to 3,2 - Sheldon's favor.

The final two quarters provided tough in and under football, with both sides putting their head over the footy. Though, with only four past or present club players compared to over three quarters of the Sheldon team, OC truely didn't stand a chance.

Final Score Sheldon 9,6 to Ormiston 5,5.
