2015 Premier League fixture released

Basketball SA today released the 2015 Premier League fixture which is one of the most unique in the league’s history.

This years structure will increase (from 18) to a 22-round season with all clubs playing 9 home games, 9 away games and a further 4 games at the Adelaide Arena, including the ‘Sunday Blockbuster’ round where the men’s and women’s teams from all 10 clubs will play each other at the same venue, on the same day.

The first weekend of games tip-off on Saturday 14 March and on Sunday 15 March, the mens 2014 Grand Final rematch between West Adelaide and Woodville at the Adelaide Arena, will kick-start a new era for the state’s elite league.

A new feature will be the ‘Anzac Round’ to be played on Saturday 25 April, which will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the landing at Gallipoli. The ‘Sunday Blockbuster’ round will be held on Sunday 26 July and is set to be a massive day of basketball and fantastic opportunity to showcase the league. With games from 10am through until 7pm it will give spectators a choice of games and the chance to see multiple teams play in the one day.

The 2015 Premier League finals series will start with Qualifying finals on Saturday 8 August and climax with the 2015 Premier League Grand Final on Saturday 29 August.

The fixture includes a number of significant decisions around timeslots and game days in order to take a fresh new approach to the Premier League, to give spectators more choice and opportunities for greater exposure. A review of these changes will be conducted following the season.

 

 

Please note: The simplest way for the Premier league schedule to be displayed on our website is by date order. Dates have been grouped together in rounds to ensure they are not missed. Please note that as this is the case it means that all teams are not displayed in each round and some teams may be displayed twice within one round.
