At the recent
AGM & subsequent
Extra Ordinary meeting, it was voted that the GWFA be dissolved to make way for the AFL (NSW/ACT) restructuring of administrating Australian Rules Football in the Greater Sydney Basin. Now known as AFL Sydney West, the "Association" becomes a Sub Committee of the new Governing body known as AFL Greater Sydney Juniors, uniting all the satellite associations under the one set of rules (these new rules can be found in the "DOCUMENTS" section on the left hand menu).
Along with the new name comes a new board/committee dedicated to looking after the local issues of our region:

Secretary: Lynn Brydon
Manager J-Squad: Mark Shoebridge
Manager Youth: Lyle Thomas
Manager Umpires: Christine Burrows
Manager Events: Geana Smith
Manager Marketing: Greg Corless
Other roles are taken up by the AFL Developement team headed up by Glen Waide.
Manager Auskick: Carolyn Watson
Manager TPP: Doug Freeman
Manager Strategies: Glen Waide
Manager Schools: Glen Waide
These positions are explained in the power point presentation found on the "INSIDE THE LEAGUE" menu on the left. Season 2006 commences Saturday April 1st 2006.
In the meantime the above committee & Club committee's will continue to work in the "off season" to bring you the best possible competition for your enjoyment.
