Tigers have caused a minor upset to put them back in the Geelong Basketball League playoff frame, beating YMCA 69-60 in Tuesday night’s round nine action.

Big V Supercat pair Ben Scannell and Simon Evans combined for 44 points for Tigers, who now sit two points outside the top four.

Veteran Jordan Hill and Mitch Herbert scored 15 points apiece for Y.

SEABL Supercat great Jason Reardon exploded for 38 points in Pivot City’s 99-56 trouncing of Dolphins.

Luke Osborn also proved to be a handful, finishing with 25 points for the Pivotonians.

Dolphins, which went into the clash without star big man Ben McCawley, were best served by 16 points from Jamie Plowman.

Nathan Freind starred with 27 points as Christian College got past Sharks 69-46.Jackson Bentley provided the support with 13 points.

Dane Bow paced Sharks, also scoring 13 points.

Lara climbed off the bottom of the GBL women’s division one ladder with a 76-66 result against Sharks.

SEABL Lady Supercat Caitlin Shadbolt starred with 44 points, dominating inside the paint.

American Abby Schrader made her debut for the Giants and chipped in with 18 points.

Maddy White (28 points) and Georgia Varley (27) kept Sharks competitive.

Rovers unbeaten start to the season has been halted, going down to YMCA 54-52.

Veteran duo Candice Rogers (24 points) and Jae Conn (20) ensured Y would hang on for victory, after almost giving up a 22-point advantage.

Lauren Bellegante (14 points) provided much of the impetus for the comeback.

Bianca Cheever’s 34 points hasn’t been enough for Pivot City, which suffered a 73-58 loss to Try Boys.

The Bears produced a more even team performance, with four players scoring in double-figures including veteran Anisa Sijercic, who finished with 20 points.
